WhatsBox Bots
WhatsBox includes a native AI Chatbot Engine (/ai-bots) that handles incoming WhatsApp inquiries 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Powered by advanced Large Language Models (LLMs), your bot can answer product questions, qualify leads, explain pricing, and escalate complex issues to human agents.
Chatbot Types: Standard vs Custom
When setting up an AI bot (/ai-bots/[ai_bot_id]), you can choose between two instruction modes:
Standard Bots
Pre-configured, battle-tested bot personas (e.g. Customer Support Assistant, Sales Qualification Bot, Appointment Booker). Simply enter your company name and public agent name.
Custom Bots
Complete control over the bot's system prompt, tone of voice, personality, forbidden topics, and response format.
Configuring an AI Chatbot
Name & Identification
- Internal Name: The label used inside your WhatsBox dashboard (e.g. "Main Support Bot").
- Public Name: The conversational persona presented to customers (e.g. "Alex from WhatsBox Support").
Instructions & Tone of Voice
Define clear rules for your bot:
- Role: "You are a friendly customer service representative for ACME Corp."
- Tone: Professional, helpful, and concise.
- Constraints: Instruct the bot never to invent facts or promise discounts unless verified in the knowledge base.
Live Preview & Playground
On the right side of the configuration screen, WhatsBox provides an interactive Live Chat Preview Column:
- Send test messages to your bot in real time.
- Verify how the bot answers questions based on your instructions.
- Inspect tool calling and knowledge retrieval behavior before enabling the bot for real customers.
Enable the Bot
Once satisfied with test conversations, toggle the bot status from Disabled to Enabled. Incoming messages on the assigned WhatsApp channel will now be handled autonomously!
