For enterprises with existing AI agents built in the Microsoft Power Platform ecosystem, WhatsBox offers native Microsoft Copilot Studio Integration (/copilot-ai-bots).
This allows your Microsoft Copilot Studio agents to converse directly with customers on WhatsApp while retaining your enterprise security policies, Microsoft Dataverse connectors, and complex bot topic trees.

Connecting Your Copilot Studio Agent
Obtain Direct Line Token from Copilot Studio
- Open your agent in Microsoft Copilot Studio portal (
copilotstudio.microsoft.com). - Navigate to Settings > Channels.
- Select Mobile app or Direct Line.
- Copy your agent's Direct Line Secret / Token.
- Ensure authentication is set appropriately (No Auth or Azure Entra ID per your requirements).
Add Copilot Agent in WhatsBox
- In WhatsBox, go to Copilot AI Bots (
/copilot-ai-bots/[ai_bot_id]). - Enter an internal bot name and paste the Direct Line Token.
- Configure the public display name for WhatsApp customers.
Configure Human Escalation
Set up handover rules in Copilot Studio's topic editor. When the agent triggers an escalation event, WhatsBox routes the chat to your human agents in the shared inbox.
Test in Preview & Enable
Use the built-in test preview column to chat with your Copilot Studio agent before toggling the bot to Enabled.
