Template Syncing

Sync approved templates from Meta WhatsApp Manager, understand template anatomy, and map them in WhatsBox.

WhatsBox provides a synchronization engine (/templates/wa-sync) that links your workspace directly with your Meta WhatsApp Business Account (WABA).

Anatomy of a WhatsApp Template

Templates are reviewed and approved by Meta before broadcasting.
WABA Template Spec v2
  1. Header: Optional media (image banner, video preview, PDF catalog) or bold text header.
  2. Body: The main message content supporting markdown and placeholders ({{1}}, {{2}}).
  3. Footer: Small disclaimer or secondary text.
  4. Interactive Buttons:
    • Quick Reply: Pre-set response buttons that customer taps to send an instant reply.
    • Call-to-Action (CTA): Links to external web URLs (can include dynamic suffixes) or phone dialers.

Syncing Templates from WhatsApp Manager

Whenever you create or update templates inside Meta's WhatsApp Manager:

Open WhatsApp Templates

In WhatsBox, go to Message Templates > WhatsApp Templates (/templates/whatsapp).

Click Sync from WhatsApp Manager

Click the Sync from WhatsApp Manager button (/templates/wa-sync).

Select Your WABA

Choose your connected WhatsApp Business Account from the dropdown and click GO.

Map Templates

WhatsBox pulls all approved templates associated with your WABA:

  • View template language, category, and visual components.
  • Status badges indicate whether the template is APPROVED, IN_REVIEW, or REJECTED.
  • Click the arrow button to import and make the template available for broadcasts and inbox replies.

Direct Link to Meta Template Library

To create a new template on Meta:

  1. Visit the Meta WhatsApp Manager Template Library.
  2. Click Create Template.
  3. Fill in the header, body, and buttons.
  4. Once approved by Meta, return to WhatsBox and run the Sync tool to start using it immediately.
