Slack

Manage WhatsApp conversations directly from Slack, reply in threads, collaborate with private notes, and track delivery status.

The WhatsBox Slack Bridge (/settings/integrations) is a bi-directional integration that connects your WhatsApp phone channels directly to your company's Slack workspace.

Your support and sales teams can monitor incoming WhatsApp inquiries and reply to customers without switching tabs or leaving Slack.

Key Features

Dedicated Thread Per Customer

Each customer conversation creates a clean, dedicated Slack thread inside your designated Slack channel.

Direct Replies from Slack

Replying inside the Slack thread automatically sends the message out to the customer's WhatsApp in real time.

Private Team Notes (`note:`)

Prefix your Slack message with note: to keep comments private within your internal team. They are never sent to the customer!

Real-Time Status & Checkmarks

Message delivery updates and read receipts sync back into the Slack thread in real time.

Setting Up the Slack Bridge

Open Integrations in WhatsBox

Navigate to Settings > Integrations (/settings/integrations).

Click Add to Slack

In the Slack Bridge card, click Add to Slack.

Authorize Slack OAuth

You will be redirected to the secure Slack authorization screen:

  1. Select the target Slack workspace.
  2. Choose the public or private Slack channel where customer WhatsApp chats should be posted (e.g. #whatsapp-support or #sales-leads).
  3. Click Allow.

Configure Channel Mapping

Select which WhatsApp phone number is connected to the designated Slack channel. You can connect multiple WhatsApp channels to different Slack channels (e.g. US Support vs UK Support).

Replying to Customers vs Private Notes

Replying Directly to WhatsApp

Any normal reply posted in a customer's Slack thread is immediately converted by WhatsBox into an outbound WhatsApp message delivered to the customer.

Adding Private Internal Notes

If you want to discuss an issue with a colleague, check an order detail, or ask a supervisor for advice without the customer seeing:

Simply start your Slack message with note::

note: @sarah Can we issue a 15% refund for this damaged order?

WhatsBox detects the prefix, saves the message as an Internal Note on the contact's record, and ensures it is not transmitted to the customer's WhatsApp handset.
